The Airport:
Grantley Adams International (BGI) is the sole airport in Barbados. It is located to the south east of the island, approximately 9 miles from Bridgetown and a 45 minute car journey to Holetown, the hub of the west coast. Whilst relatively compact you will find a selection of restaurants, bars, shops and duty free offerings located within the airport.
Car Hire / Airport transfers:
Our team can pre-arrange your transfers from the airport to ensure that you and your luggage have a relaxing and seamless journey to your chosen accommodation. With our dedicated concierge services we can also arrange a car hire to meet your requirements, whether you are thinking of renting a vehicle for one day or the full duration of your trip.
Climate:
Barbados offers an average of 8 to 9 hours of glorious sunshine each day, with temperatures ranging from 26°C to 31°C throughout the year. Rainfall on the island tends to be greatest from September to November, whilst the driest months are December through to May. When it does rain this is generally in short sharp showers during early morning or late afternoon, which you may actually find to be quite a refreshing interval to the dazzling Caribbean sunshine.
Currency:
The currency of Barbados is the Barbados Dollar (BBD). It is pegged to the USD at a rate of $1.98 BDS to $1.00 USD. We advise that you carry some local currency with you on your trip to Barbados, although you will find that US Dollars are widely accepted and the majority of shops and restaurants will happily accept all major credit cards.
