Barbados Jeep Safari
This is one of the most popular tours in Barbados. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours and you will be transported in a 4 x 4 jeep which will safari across the east and northeast of the island. It really is a wonderful day out for the whole family. Skilled guides will transport you over mixed terrains, on and off road. You will get to see to some of the most beautiful parts of the island. The guides will usually keep you entertained with interesting anecdotes, history, culture and the island’s hidden gems.
Get accustomed to your custom designed Jeep. They are usually painted in Safari zebra stripes. You will then set off to meet the convoy and begin exploration of the island. Key stops include: Edge Cliff, Bathsheba, Joe's River Forest, and Little Bay, along with many others. Refreshments are served at intervals during your journey. Your journey will end with a traditional Bajan buffet luncheon. This experience will undoubtedly impart memories of Barbados life and culture which will remain with you for a lifetime.
Snorkel Tour and Bridgetown Shopping Experience
Dip beneath the clear blue waves and enjoy snorkelling amongst five historic shipwrecks in Carlisle Bay. You will be surrounded by exotic marine life and the island's renowned sea turtles. After snorkelling, enjoy a glass of fresh fruit juice or refreshing rum punch. You might then like to take a stroll down Broad Street to do some shopping. Harrisons Cave
Venture deep beneath the island's surface and explore one of Barbados’ natural treasures. This is one of the wonders of the world and one of the most popular tours in Barbados. Take a guided tour through a living cave. Enjoy a winding half hour tram ride to your destination. You will hear rushing streams and see calm glassy pools which capture the gleaming reflections of stalagtitites and stalagmites. This is a truly enchanting natural exhibit before your eyes. Throughout the cave interactive displays for adults and children alike are strategically placed for your enjoyment.
We recommend you wear comfortable footwear. so you can disembark from your transport and take a closer look at the marvellous formations within. All guided tours of the cave include tram transfers and light refreshments. Tours generally last around 3 hours. Trips are available seven days per week from 10am to 3:45pm.
Reading road Trip
Whilst enjoying your time in Barbados why not take opportunity to give back to the local community. You can do this by quite literally going back to school on a Reading Road Trip. This is a unique opportunity to engage with local Caribbean children through the island's 'Community Routes Program'. Reading a story is just the beginning of this enlightening experience. You will be paired with a small group of children, aged 3 to 7 years old on a journey to their local school.
Your personal stories and questions will keep the group attentive and benefit their skills in listening and communication. As these youngsters complete their reading aptitude sheets, your one to one guidance will inspire a new chapter of excitement about learning. If you choose to partake please bring along a new or gently used book to donate to the school’s librar. This will be enjoyed by students time and time again.
Oistins Fish Fry
If you want to immerse yourself in a true Bajan tradition do not miss Oistins fish fry. This lively evening BBQ is held every Friday night held under the twinkling night sky. It begins at 7pm and continues into the early hours. There is live music and dancing to be enjoyed by all. Fill your plate with freshly grilled seafood and other island specialities You will also enjoy perusing the stalls of local craft and artists. Nothing more fun than soaking up the positive energy exuding from this pretty fishing village on the south coast. We think this will be one of your most treasured experiences on Barbados. Dress code is casua and the seating it rusting. There will be plentiful drinks and dishes to sample throughout the night,
To get there you can sign up for the Oistins Express Shuttle. This runs from locations along the West Coast straight to the port in Christchurch and costs around $3. The $3 goes towards supporting the local community and the work of Sandals Foundation. A bonus to your enjoyment of the night. We would recommend that if taking the bus you leave plenty of time for your journey. It can be quite busy especially on Friday evenings. From Gibbes and Paynes Bay you can expect around a one and a half hour ride.
The British Airways Concorde Experience
Step onboard a real concorde at Grantley Adams International Airpor. Here you will experience this world renowned aircraft first hand via a guided tour. For those interested in aviation this must be one of the best tours in Barbados. Learn about the history, advanced mechanics and build of the plane. Enjoy a picture or two as you walk the red carpet to enter the aircraft and experience how it felt to fly within.
